Education Program Coordinator

POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination and
facilitation of staff education and training programs and materials as directed
by the Staff Education Program Manager. Other primary responsibilities include
the coordination and support of the Learning Management System.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent works under the direction of the Staff Education Program
Manager. Additional responsibilities include support in the planning,
development and organization of educational offerings for all staff as outlined
in the staff education strategic plan. This position also provides assistance
in various committee meetings as they relate to the planning and development of
staff education offerings.
JOB DUTIES
Perform some or all of the following responsibilities:
- Coordinates face to face and online education including course
organization, scheduling, registration, equipment procurement, room and catering
arrangements, evaluation, participant tracking, data entry and reports.
- Organizes course materials, correspondence and website updates,
including flyers, power point presentations, and teaching tools.
- Serves as the primary coordinator for the Learning Management
System which includes all aspects of system program and data management and
maintenance.
- Serves as coordinator of the bi-monthly Education Alerts which
includes facilitation and dissemination of the Alert throughout SCCA staff
networks.
- Supports the Education Committee meetings including; agenda
development, scheduling, taking minutes, and distributing agenda and minutes.
- Assists in researching and editing department materials as
requested.
- Assists in the evaluation of the effectiveness of training and
education programs in support of the objectives.
- Provides staff customer relations coverage for the department to
ensure the staff has immediate access to resources and information during
regular business hours.
- Uses software applications such as Microsoft Office, Power Point and
graphic packages.
- Produces special and recurring education training and tracking
reports for clinic managers.
- Performs other duties as required.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Performing the Job Duties:
- Training and experience in coordination and
implementation of educational events and understanding of adult learning
concepts to provide effective education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, multi tasking and
prioritization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with
multiple disciplines to provide needed/required staff education
- Strong computer skill required including knowledge
of Microsoft applications; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of
Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop as well as experience with audiovisual equipment.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS required in a related field of study. Minimum of 2 years of experience
in adult education program planning and implementation within a health care
setting. Strong computer skills are required.
